In 2007 the towns along the seacoast were asked to appoint representatives to the
'project advisory committee' for the NH Seacoast Greenway.  The volunteers have met
several times and have accomplished several tasks including designing, approving & having
signage installed for the on-road route, selecting the name, and organizing a public
meeting that took place in May 2007.  We are in the process of getting funding for
informational kiosks to be set-up in a few locations, drafted a 100 page 'Conceptual
Design & Implementation Plan'.  Also since establishing a marketing committee, we have
had contacts with many political representatives, as well as Portsmouth & Hampton's
Chamber of Commerce and many businesses interested in supporting the NH Seacoast
Greenway Project.
The mission of the Advisory Committee has been to identify preferred
alignments and designs for the East Coast Greenway in NH, and develop a
mechanism for it's implementation, construction, operation and
maintenance.  The planning process has been funded by grants and in-kind
support from the NHDOT, National Park Service, SABR,the Eastern Trail
Management District, Rockingham Planning Commission, ECGA, and the
other organizations and individuals on the Project Advisory Committee.
We would also like to say Thanks to the marketing committee for getting
the ball rolling on the recognition of New Hampshire Seacoast Greenway
and initiating the NH Seacoast Greenway Inaugural.
